Novels and Graphic Novels by Carmilla Voiez

The Highgate Priestess

Five years ago, in what appeared to be a Satanic ritual gone wrong, thirty-six mutilated bodies were discovered in a cellar in Highgate London. The sole survivor, thirteen-year-old Melissa Powell, was removed from the scene in a catatonic state.

When the infamous Highgate Priestess transfers to Witchwood Prison, inmates complain that she’s sending demons to attack them. How can prison guard, Wanda Jones, uncover the truth behind the priestess's power and avoid losing her sanity, her partner, and her freedom?

The Highgate Priestess is a supernatural LGBT thriller. The story is set in Witchwood Prison, housing the most dangerous women in Britain.

Starblood

Satori, an arrogant yet alluring Chaos Magician, is heart-broken when Star tells him it is over. He performs a magical ritual to win her back, but accidentally brings Lilith, Mother of Demons, to Earth. How can Satori survive the demon's wrath and reclaim the heart of his beloved?

Beautiful and vulnerable, Star has yet to discover her own power and strength. When she falls in love with the enchanting Lilith, her world descends into madness and violence. Satori's strange world threatened her sanity, what then of Lilith's?

A sensuous story, full of dark fantasy and horror, that offers readers a glimpse into the seedier side of the Gothic subculture in Britain.

Psychonaut

Satori is caught between two worlds. He is in love and too stubborn to let a little thing like death get in his way. Star’s tortured and broken body awaits, but does she really need Satori to save her? To reach her, he must face unimaginable horrors, including his true self.

Full of sex and magic, Psychonaut is an exploration into the human psyche and the second book in Voiez’s Starblood Trilogy.

"Carmilla Voiez is more of a singer than a writer. She tells her compelling story in a hypnotic, distinctive voice that brings her eerie world vividly to life." Graham Masterton

“Psychonaut is a book of mad impulses, inner vision, sadism, escape and belief. You feel uncomfortable reading it, like Alex strapped to the chair in Clockwork Orange being taught to feel sick at atrocity. Rather than leave us crippled by response, though, Psychonaut bears you through the hurt towards the only paradise we can be assured of...a love past fault.” Jef Withonef, Houston Press

The Death & Resurrection Show

All teenagers may act like monsters, but Star and Satori’s son is an actual demon.

Angry at being abandoned, Edensun hunts down his parents. Will either of them survive the coming confrontation?

Edensun’s power attracts the attention of the gangsters and goddess cult members who pursue him, believing he will unleash Hell on Earth. Can anyone stop him before it is too late?

Book three of the Starblood Trilogy, The Death and Resurrection Show, is an intense occult horror with LGBTQ+ characters.

Our Fearful Roots

Mary relocates her family to her aunt’s old house in Alabama, a place she fled from sixteen years earlier. When her family experiences odd and threatening occurrences, Mary dismisses them as dreams or heat-induced hallucinations.

To save her family she must accept the truth before it is too late.

Our Fearful Roots is a Southern Gothic Horror novel by Carmilla Voiez and Faith Marlow.

Ballerina & the Revolutionary

A tale of self discovery and ghosts.

Crow tries to escape the past, but it keeps drawing them back. This time in the form of their mother. Vivienne realizes she is dying, and all she wants is to see her daughter Giselle one last time and apologise. But Giselle no longer exists and it is Crow, a gender-queer anarchist, who returns to a family home that is plagued by ghosts and violent memories.

In a battle to save their sanity, Crow enlists the help of an enigmatic shaman. Painful childhood memories unravel until they lose their power. Crow becomes a dream-walker whose journey heals their psychic wounds and allows them to discover their true self.

But can anyone survive the shadows that lurk behind these fairy tales?
